My parents recently put their boat in a slip at a nearby lake. It is a big boat house, with each boat slip displaying the owner's personality through their decor and size of beer refrigerator. We have a blank slate to start with, and will soon, I am sure, be keeping up with the Joneses.
Their boat house is known for having the best fishing, and my kids have spent about 12 of the last 36 hours trying to help maintain that reputation. It makes my heart smile to see my kids having a blast, not checking cell phones, or wishing they were in front of the Xbox. It didn't hurt that there were lines in the water and Shiners in the hands of the adults.
