Blessed are those who suffer idiots and bitches,75% of the 'work' I do (not the mom parts, but the outside-the-home parts) is uncompensated. While I love being able to work from home and be here for my kids, I envy all of you that have real jobs with real policies and HR departments and supervisors and expectations of civil behavior.
They will be
avenged by their Godrewarded with Shiner.
There is something about volunteer organizations that brings out the bitchiness in people. They seem to think they can leave all decorum at the door and act like 12-year olds.
The only actual paycheck I receive is a small stipend as director of a non-profit foundation. Basically, I am compensated for the use of my home office, my computer and other office equipment, utilities and storage space. I certainly don't get paid enough to deal with psycho volunteers.
If you have ever worked with other volunteers, you know what I mean. Maybe a group of youth sport's parents, or a school event. Maybe some non-profit fundraiser. They are all the same. There is inevitably one or two raving idiots that would be fired, if it were a corporate environment.
Suffering the gross incompetency and rabid bitchy defensiveness of someone I can't fire is my challenge for the day. What's yours?
